Beware of a new Adobe Acrobat upgrade e-mail message

This afternoon, I received an e-mail message that claims to be from Adobe and suggests that a link in the message should be clicked so that the user can upgrade to the latest Adobe Acrobat reader.  My suggestion to anyone receiving this message would be to delete the message and under no circumstances should you click on any link in the message.

The subject of the message is “Download New Adobe Acrobat Reader Software For Windows and Mac“.  The links in the message are to a web location at adobe-acrobat10-software.net.  I did a WHOIS search for the registration record of this domain name and it is registered to an address in China.

It is highly likely that anyone clicking on the link in this message would exposure their computer to some kind of security compromise!  With regard to Adobe Acrobat Reader, the program will automatically update itself when an update is available, so there would be no reason for such a message from Adobe.
