I retired in 2007 after 28 years as a deputy sheriff with the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Department. From 2005 to 2010, I operated a web site hosting business. The hosting business was a small operation. It became too difficult to manage with all of the malicious attacks against web servers that are common occurrences on the Internet. I decided to let the big companies handle web hosting and I now work part-time for 2 local funeral homes. With the closure of my web hosting business, I still wanted to have a presence on the Web. So a blog seemed like the best way to stay connected.
Travel is a big part of my world and has been for many years. My first trip abroad was in 1993 when I traveled to French Polynesia. Tahiti became my favorite destination after just one trip. This also explains the name TahitiChris. With the US dollar as weak as it is, Tahiti is not an inexpensive place to visit. It was expensive even when the US dollar was stronger. But Tahiti will always be my favorite destination.
I am also an amateur radio operator, KB6CE, amateur extra class. I have been licensed for ham radio since 1976.
